Dive Charters

Dive Charters

The Gulf of Mexico is well known for its spearfishing and exceptional wreck diving. Some of the very best dive sites lie in the uppermost corner of the Gulf, 10 to 20 miles off shore. Unfortunately, only a handful of charter operators can get you to these sites — and only N 2 Deep Divers departs from the historic port of Apalachicola.

Our fast, modern Sea Cat dive boat can get you to thee sites quickly. Most sites are around 60 feet deep, so heavy technical gear or advanced training is not necessary. A few sites are in up to 120 feet of water and farther off shore. We do these one our three-tank charters; advanced certification and prior deep-water experience is recommended.

Here are some of our more popular dive sites:

Empire Mica
  • Empire Mica: This large British tanker was torpedoed in 1942, just months after her maiden voyage. It is still largely intact, but overgrown with lots of coral, making it a magnet for large fish.
Oil Rig
  • Exxon Template: This retired oil rig was sunk as part of the artificial reef program. It has done its job well, attracting lots of growth and fish. Great for photographers and spearfisherman alike.
Marine Growth
  • The Middle Grounds: A 16-hour, three-tank trip. Advanced and Nitrox Diver certifications required. A fantastic celebration of vertebrate and invertebrate life, where the bottom plunges suddenly from 70 to 120 feet. Apalachicola is the closest port to this incredible spot.

If you are really into spearfishing, ask us about setting up a spearfishing night dive. This is extremely exciting and can provide you with excellent results.
